A Wisconsin independent contractor agreement establishes a business relationship between two parties; an independent contractor and a client who hired them to perform a service for them. The service(s) to be provided will be outlined in the written agreement, as will the financial compensation to be awarded to the contractor in exchange for their services. In addition to services and compensation, an independent contractor agreement contains terms and conditions regarding the time-frame in which the services must be completed, the contractor’s status (as it differs from that of an employee), licenses, permits, taxes, confidentiality, and termination. Once the contract has been signed, it cannot be terminated unless both parties agree.
