The North Carolina subcontractor agreement is a continuance of a pre-existing agreement with a contractor and its client. The primary contractor is hiring a subcontractor to assist with an ongoing job with their own client. Because the subcontractor is a 1099 employee, any and all inquiries are to go to the primary contractor and not the client at hand.
Laws – § 22C-1(6)
State Definition (§ 22C-1(6)) – “Subcontractor” has performed labor for, a contractor or another subcontractor in connection with a contract to improve real property.
