The Kansas subcontractor agreement details the kind of services or product a subcontractor will provide on behalf of the contractor. Known as 1099-employee the contract specifies all the duties, liabilities, and responsibilities that come with the current job. The agreement is solely between the hiring contractor and subcontractor. Once the job is complete, it is the hiring personnel’s duty to provide the payment agreed upon.

State Definition (§ 16-1802(h)) – “Subcontractor” means any person performing construction covered by a contract between an owner and a contractor but not having a contract with the owner.
