The New Hampshire non-compete agreement provides protection for employers who want to prevent an employee from working for or starting a competing business. Generally, a non-compete is reserved for employees who have a good understanding of the industry and the employer’s business and who have been given access to the company’s confidential information. A non-compete agreement prohibits the employee from using any of their knowledge or any of the company’s clients, customers, or contractors to engage in competition with their employer, either during or after employment. Once signed by both the employer and employee, the employee is bound by the terms and conditions of the agreement, and any breach of contract could result in the employer seeking appropriate remedies in a court of law.
