The Alabama non-compete agreement is a document used to prevent an employee from competing directly with their employer once their business relationship has come to an end. The document also states the employee’s limitations on soliciting clients and employees, that is, attempting to persuade the employer’s personnel to leave the company. It should be noted that no agreement can exceed one (1) year in length regarding non-compete clauses, and eighteen (18) months regarding non-solicitation. A court of law will also factor in the geographical scope of the document, ensuring that it does not restrict the employee excessively.
Laws – § 8-1-190
