The New Jersey independent contractor agreement establishes the relationship between a client and an independent contractor who they are hiring to perform a particular service. On the document, they will need to write the date that the agreement becomes effective, the services being performed, and the amount of financial compensation that the contractor will receive. The client should also specify whether they will be covering any expenses and if the contractor must obtain sufficient insurance coverage for themselves. This contract can be used to hire an individual contractor or to hire a contractor who is given authority to hire subcontractors under the terms of the agreement. Once the agreement has been signed by the client and the contractor, it will be legally binding.
