A Mississippi independent contractor agreement is a legally binding agreement that used to govern the relationship between an independent contractor and a client. On the contract, the client agrees to pay the contractor a specific amount of money to perform a particular service. The form includes clauses that confirm the contractor’s independent status which obligates them to provide their own equipment and prohibits them from receiving benefits. Furthermore, independent contractors must pay all their income tax and obtain their own liability insurance. Once the agreement has been signed, it may be used as legal proof in the event that there is a dispute between the two (2) parties.
